As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

Prompt Response: I think that I connected the most with poetry. Poetry was very engaging and I found dissecting the meanings out of them to be really interesting. My favorite project that I did in this class was my origin myth project. I put a lot of effort into making an interesting story for that project and I was proud of the outcome. I would say I need the most improvement in my writing skills. Although I think they are fine, I think there are lots of ways I can improve on them.

Summary: Today we worked on our projects in class.

Reflection: I had a lot of fun in the first semester of this course.

McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. In your blog post, analyze how his desire for independence contributed to his death. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?
