Prompt: I cannot remember exactly where but I have heard the word brigand in lots of media centered around the 1700s. Most of these were either pirate related or about colonial America. I can assume that the word brigand was likely more prominent around this time period.

Reflection: I learned some new words today.

  Prompt Response:  When I am working on a project, I typically create a loose plan in my head on what I want to do and how I will do it. This helps me stay on track and avoid wasting time. I was most proud of a project I made in 8th grade. I made a very impressive civil war diorama. This project was of a quality I never thought that I could achieve. I also really enjoyed making the project because I really enjoy history. Summary: Today we did a vocabulary assignment. Reflection:  I learned new words that I can use in my writing.

 Prompt: The word malinger resonates with me. I never knew that there was an entire word for skipping work or school by pretending to be sick. It is a useful word that is not really heard of.
