Prompt: Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?
Prompt Response: Over the summer my parents got divorced. When they told me that this would be happening I was in total shock because the news just came out of the blue. My parents had to sell the house to be able to afford separate places. I figured it would take all summer to move out of the house and find a new place to live for both parents, but it only took around a month. It happened so fast I feel like I did not have very much time to process it. This connects to "Nothing gold can stay" because the beauty of having a "regular" family had come to an end before I could even realize.
Summary: Today we read more Robert Frost poems.
Reflection: I learned to enjoy beauty while it is there because it does not last forever.
