After reading Lawrence Ferlinghetti's poem "Constantly Risking Absurdity," which explores the poet's daring craft, write about your most absurd personal experience. Describe a single, specific incident that felt ridiculously bold or foolish. Ensure your response is vivid, concise, and captures the essence of absurdity
Prompt Response: One of my most absurd experiences was when unknowingly drove while on NyQuil. When we were in the process of moving out of our house, I was currently staying at my grandma's house. I had a cold and my mom had given me some medicine for it. I was chilling there until my dad randomly called me at 11 P.M. My dad had told me that we had to get everything out of our house before the next day. I was at my grandma's house because my mom assumed that when they said we had to move out by twelve on Friday, they meant 12 P.M, but they meant 12 A.M. Me and my dad drove back and forth from my grandma's house and our old house around 3 times, each drive being around 20 minutes for each way there. At some point during those trips, I felt a little weird, but I just figured it was because I was tired. For one of the drives, since it was very late at night and there was nobody on the highway, I asked if I could get some driving practice in. My dad let me drive from my grandma's house to my house. When I was 3 minutes away from my house, my mom texted my dad not to let me drive because I was on NyQuil. Luckily, at this point it was around 3am and the effects had mainly worn off, but this situation could have been very dangerous because my mom did not tell me the medicine I was on was NyQuil.
Summary: Today we read "Constantly Risking Absurdity" by Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
Reflection: Today I gained a much deeper respect for the intricacies of poetry.
